Who we are and what this notice covers
BeFound is the controller for the personal data described in this notice. You can contact us at hello@befound.global.
If you become a client, the contracting entity named in your signed proposal or agreement may be the controller for engagement-related information. That agreement may also include additional privacy and data-processing terms.
This notice covers visits to be-found.uk, email enquiries, and the business contact information used to discuss or deliver BeFound services.
Information we collect
Information you choose to send
When you email us, we may receive your name, work email address, company, role, target market, product information, and anything else you include in the message or later correspondence.
Information used during an engagement
If we work together, we may process business contact details, project communications, commercial records, approvals, and the account or product information needed to deliver the agreed scope. The relevant agreement defines that scope and each party’s responsibilities.
Technical and security information
Our hosting and security providers may process IP addresses, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, network identifiers, and security signals. This information is used to deliver the site, manage traffic, diagnose faults, and protect against malicious or automated activity.
Search terms entered into the website’s navigation menu are filtered in your browser. BeFound does not send or retain those terms.
Please do not send sensitive personal data unless we have specifically agreed that it is necessary and how it will be protected.
How we use information and our lawful bases
- Respond to enquiries and discuss a possible engagement
- We process the information you send to take steps at your request before a contract and, where appropriate, for our legitimate interest in managing business enquiries.
- Deliver and administer agreed services
- We process relevant contact, project, approval, access, and commercial information as necessary to perform a contract.
- Operate, secure, and improve the website
- We rely on legitimate interests to maintain a reliable and secure website, investigate faults, and prevent abuse.
- Meet legal and financial obligations
- We retain and disclose information when necessary to comply with applicable law, accounting requirements, or valid legal requests.
We do not use website data for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. We do not sell personal data or use it for behavioural advertising.
International transfers
BeFound works internationally and uses cloud infrastructure that may process information outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Where data-protection law requires a transfer safeguard, we use a recognised mechanism such as an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses, or the relevant UK addendum.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry information only while it remains useful for responding to the request and maintaining an appropriate record of the conversation. Client and commercial records are kept for the engagement and any further period required for contractual, legal, tax, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes.
Technical security records are normally kept for a short operational period determined by the relevant hosting or security service. They may be retained longer when needed to investigate an incident, prevent abuse, or meet a legal obligation. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you are and the circumstances, you may have the right to ask for access to your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, receive a portable copy, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing depends on consent, you may withdraw that consent.
Some rights have legal limits or exceptions. To make a request, email hello@befound.global. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.
Questions and complaints
Send privacy questions, rights requests, or complaints to hello@befound.global. We will acknowledge a privacy complaint within 30 days, investigate it appropriately, and explain the outcome.
You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or, if you are in the EEA, the data-protection authority in your country.
We may update this notice when the website, our services, or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
